The midfielder had looked set to join West Ham
earlier this summer but has now completed a move to the Championship
side, signing a one-year contract at Turf Moor
The 32-year-old was part of the Rangers side that won promotion from the Championship in 2013-14, but left QPR at the end of last season upon the expiration of his contract, and joins the Clarets on a free transfer.
Barton had looked set to join West Ham earlier this summer, but ruled out a move following a backlash from the club's fans.
Upon completing the deal, Burnley manager Sean Dyche told the club's website: "I'm delighted that we have Joey on board.
"He was very respectful when speaking about our club at the end of last season and during the summer.
