West Brom rule out sale of Tottenham target Berahino

The forward has been the subject of two bids from the White Hart Lane outfit but the Baggies chairman has held talks with the player to explain the club's standing
West Bromwich Albion chairman Jeremy Peace has categorically ended speculation surrounding star striker Saido Berahino.

The Baggies have turned down two bids from Tottenham for the England Under-21 international while they have also rejected a transfer request from the forward.

And Peace has spoken to the 22-year-old and informed him he will not be sold before the closure of the transfer window on September 1.

He told the club's official website:  “I have informed Saido that he will not be transferred during this summer window and that he is staying at the club.

“As I have made clear from the moment Tottenham lodged their first bid for Saido on August 18, selling our top goalscorer was never on our agenda this summer.
