replacement for the injured Barcelona star ahead of the Chevrolet Brasil
Global Tour fixtures with Costa Rica and USA
Dani Alves has been forced to withdraw from next month’s Chevrolet Brasil Global Tour double-header through injury.The Barcelona right-back suffered a groin strain during his side’s 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday and could be out of action for up to a month.
After being drafted in as a late replacement for June’s Copa America when Danilo was forced to miss the tournament through injury, the two were set to do battle for the starting role at right-back next month.
Monaco defender Fabinho has been drafted into the squad to replace Alves and will now act as reserve to Danilo for the matches against Costa Rica and USA.
