Everton have completed the siging of Leandro Rodriguez from River Plate Montevideo on a four-year deal.
The
22-year-old striker, who scored 19 goals in 71 games for the Uruguayuan
outfit over three years, leaves his hometown club for an undisclosed
fee and will be a part of the first-team squad this season.
Martinez
is excited by Rodriguez's potential and has compared him to another
summer signing - Mason Holgate from Barnsley - though he expects the
South American to make an immediate impact on the squad.
"He's a
young talent - one of those elite, talented youngsters who we like to
bring in," Martinez told the club's official website.
"Mason
Holgate is a clear example of a really strong, young English defender
and Leandro Rodriguez is a young striker with a real knack of scoring
goals.
